My name is Connie and I am 55 years old.
I have low back pain with spinal degeneration, which first became a concern 7 years ago.
The nerve to my hip and leg becomes pinched, and I cannot walk, stand, or sleep. It definitely interferes with my activities of daily life. I have had epidural injections, and they do succeed in alleviating the pain. Upon the last flare up of the pain, I decided to try something new, since my husband heard Dr. Gates speak about Spinal Decompression and the value of it for different types of spinal conditions.
She looked at my X-rays and MRI and suggested a plan to include Spinal Decompression, explaining how it works; the improvement, the amount of time, and cost all up front. I decided to enter into a treatment plan in which Dr. Gates’ fees are reasonable. After my first 4 sessions on the table and adjustments I am 98% pain free.
This therapy with Dr. Gates has certainly helped me get back to a normal active lifestyle.
Spinal decompression therapy is a revolutionary treatment for managing back pain without the need for drugs or surgery for Lee's Summit, Jackson County residents. If your back pain has lasted for six months or longer, a herniated disc, slipped disc or compressed disc may be responsible for this pain. Conditions like sciatica, which occurs when a herniated disc compresses the sciatic nerve, can also lead to years of recurring pain. Decompression therapy treats this pain through gentle traction that creates spaces between the compressed vertebra. This relieves compression by alleviating pressure on the nerves.
Relieve Back Pain and Improve Mobility with Spinal Decompression Therapy
Our spine is the body’s foundation. Twenty-four different bones (vertebrae) comprise the spine; each vertebra is stacked on top of each other cushioned with a soft, gel-like disc. These flat discs act as shock absorbers that prevent the bones from rubbing against each other. Age-related damage and deterioration to these discs is a common cause for back pain. Auto accident injuries, sports injuries, work-related accidents and other personal injuries can also damage the spine and lead to recurring back pain. In addition to back pain, you may also experience numbness, sudden shocks or sharp pain, and radiating pain sensations down the legs and arms.
Spinal decompression therapy uses precise, computerized adjustments to traction the spine and creates space between the vertebrae. Most treatment sessions last between 15 and 20 minutes. During a treatment session, patients lie on a computerized decompression table. Treatment is very gentle and each movement, while minimal, is extremely precise. Some patients find treatment so relaxing they even fall asleep! Depending on the severity of your pain, you may experience immediate relief after just one session. For maximum pain relief, our chiropractor recommends a series of treatment sessions over several weeks.
Decompression therapy is an effective pain management technique that naturally complements chiropractic care. In addition to gentle spine traction, decompression therapy also nourishes the spinal discs, which is important for healing following a back injury. A diagnostic appointment with our chiropractor is the best way to determine if decompression therapy is the right treatment for your pain management needs. During this appointment, our chiropractor will assess your overall spinal health, including any underlying subluxations that may be responsible for the back pain you are experiencing. Our goal with treatment is two-fold: provide immediate back pain relief and support whole body health from the inside out. By addressing the root cause for your pain, decompression therapy activates your body’s ability to heal itself.
Has chronic pain made your life unbearable?
Are you frustrated with traditional pain management treatment options that rely on either medication or back surgery?
These treatment options often provide only limited relief and may even lead to bigger problems. Spinal decompression therapy may be able to help relieve your back pain and reduce – or completely eliminate – the need for medication and surgery.
Hi, I’m Jim!
I called Dr Jackie because of chronic back pain, neck pain, and my left leg which would not straighten for 5 years. My back and neck both have degeneration, vertebral subluxation, stenosis and the nerves and discs are irritated. I guess a lot for a long time.
I am a truck driver, 49 years old and sit on my job so I have had my spine adjusted every 6 weeks for maintenance and thought that was all I could do for the condition and pain.
On a scale of 1 – 10 my pain was a consistent 6. It started in the morning and then would lessen maybe because I just loosened up or got used to the pain.
Dr Jackie met with me and ordered x-rays for my back and neck to determine if Spinal Decompression would help my condition.
The cold laser is used by Dr Jackie on my knee and it will finally straighten out. My mobility in my knee is 25% improved. I do not want to have surgery.
My back on the spinal decompression table is a lot better and at certain stages of the visits I would notice major improvements.
My neck and spinal decompression has remained stable, increased my function and no pain.
I’m very happy with the improvement in my spine with adjustments and spinal decompression and will maintain this regained function for the rest of my life.
